1 x Oregon Scientific WMR-968 433MHz Cable Free (Wireless) Weather Station touch screen controller
1 x WGR-968 Anemometer with Solar Power Cell and battery backup
1 x THGR-968 Thermo-Hygrometer with Solar Power Cell and battery backup
1 x RGR-968 Rain Collector Gauge with Solar Power Cell and battery backup
1 x BTHR-968 Indoor Baro-Hygrometer
1 x THGR-238 Indoor Temperature & Humidity Sensor
2 x THC-238 Waterproof Temperature Sensor with remote probe

A Pentium III/733 PC with 512MB RAM, 40GB HD, 10MHz Ethernet LAN card and 12Mb/s ADSL router running:
Windows XP Professional
Ambient Software Virtual Weather Station 9.05
4th Dimension 4.0

The system plays together quite reliably, all things considered. The PC runs Virtual Weather Station software (an Ambient Software/LabView run-time application) which continuously acquires, displays and stores internal data from the Oregon Scientific WMR-968 weather station so that we can obtain accurate long term historical statistics and reports for our own use.  The same software also updates the PC's display in real time and writes the panels/gauges to hard disk every 2 minutes in jpeg format.

Virtual Weather Station automatically transfers various of these jpeg format files and the .html format details file (about 100kB and the absolute minimum of our more relevant data) via a 12Mb/s permanent ADSL link to our web site every 5 minutes using File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and our weather pages are written to refresh any browser left sitting on them every 5 minutes also....

Virtual Weather Station also uploads data to Weather Underground every 5 minutes and you can observe/search our historical local weather data on that website by clicking on the logo to the left.

The PC synchronises itself to accurate time standards via the internet using Dimension4 software, and is connected to our own internal 10MHz Ethernet Local Area Network as a Server.  Any other remote device on our LAN can thereby access weather information also.  Now that's really very useful as the data is available locally where and when it is needed...

So there you have it.

If your curiosity is still not satisfied then please contact us!  We'll be happy to answer your enquiry....
